IMMIP Scientist Dr. Klarmann-Schulz attends and presents at the Science Summit in NewYork

Dr. Ute Klarmann-Schulz, research group leader on clinical trials  at the IMMIP,  represented the Institute at the annual Science Summit at UN General Assembly 2024 held in New York.  Dr. Klarmann-Schulz, who is also the Bonn PI of the TAKeOFF project, presented the session on “Collaborative African-German research exchange, implementation & uptake – RHISSA and other consortia updates”, hosted RHISSA. RHISSA - Research Networks for Health Innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa, is a BMBF funded consortia, funding partnerships  of joint African & German research institutions. The TAKeOFF project, which is in its second round of funding is funded through the RHISSA program by BMBF.

During the SSUNGA meeting, TAKeOFF PI’s from Ghana Prof. Alexander Debrah and Dr. Linda Debrah presented on their experiences on clinical trails in Africa and North to South and South South collaboration. Dr. Vera Opuku, who is a postdoc presented on early career in clinical research. Continue reading
