Prof. Dr. Marc Hübner was elected first chairman of the German Society for Parasitology (DGP)

Since January 2026, Prof. Dr. Marc Hübner has been the first chairman of the German Society for Parasitology (DGP; https://dgparasitologie.de/). Alongside him, Prof. Dr. Katharina May (second chair, University of Leipzig), Prof. Dr. Klaus Brehm (first secretary and treasurer, University of Würzburg), and PD Dr. Simone Häberlein (second secretary, University of Giessen) were elected to the executive committee. The advisory board consists of Prof. Dr. Anja Taubert (University of Giessen), Prof. Dr. Andrew Hemphill (University of Bern), PD Dr. Sabine Specht (Bayer, Basel), Prof. Dr. Markus Meissner (LMU Munich), and Prof. Dr. Iris Bruchhausen (BNITM Hamburg). One of the most important goals is to inspire young people for parasitology.
