Marc Hübner has been appointed Professor of Translational Microbiology within the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) at the Bonn-Cologne site. The professorship is located at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology where he is a group leader and head of diagnostic parasitology. Prof. Hübner studied biology at the University of Hohenheim and did his PhD in Immunology/Parasitology at the University of Tübingen. After his PhD he went to the USA to do his postdoctoral fellowship at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda (MD, USA). After four years of research in the USA, he returned to Germany in 2010 to start his own group at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology in Bonn.

Since July 2010, Marc Hübner has been working as a group leader at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology in Bonn.
