29th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Parasitology

With restrictions due to the Corona pandemic, comes also new opportunities, this year’s annual meeting of the German Society of Parasitology was successfully held online. The virtual conference enabled the participation of 415 participants from 34 countries, with more than140 oral and 120 poster presentations. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Achim Hoerauf and Prof. Marc Hübner from IMMIP, who together with the German Society of Parasitology and scientist from IMMIP organized the conference. This year's focus was on combating neglected tropical parasitic diseases in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helminth immunology, drug development, and One Health approaches. With hhe highlights of the conference, being talks by Dr. Mwelecele Malecela, NTD director at the WHO, Dr Nathalie Strub-Wourgaft Director of NTDs at DNDi and Dr. Maria Flachsbarth MdB among many other keynotes.
