Symposium on Interdisciplinary Research in Mathematics and Life Sciences

IMMIP Scientists Dr. Janina Kuehlwein and PhD student Barbara Grützmacher  presented their interdisciplinary projects during the Symposium on Interdisciplinary Research in Mathematics and Life Sciences.  Dr. Kuehlwein’s  topic was titled “Challenges in the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) for histological analysis in clinical trials”.  This AI project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and headed by Prof. Achim Hörauf the Director IMMIP and is aimed at employing the use of Artificial intelligence to machine-read sections of worm nodules in tissue, enabling drug testing to be standardized and significantly accelerated.  Read more on the Artificial intelligence project here:  AI Oncho.
